Intense Eyes - Crested Serpent Eagle (Spilornis cheela)
Intense Eyes - Crested Serpent Eagle (Spilornis cheela)
When the Good Samaritans brought this bird to the vet after it flew into their sliding glass door, the doc took one look at those eyes and said “Brain damage”. I wasn’t so sure, so I took home what he believed was a dying bird. The first day I worried the vet might be correct. I had to eye-dropper feed the eagle and it did noting but sit on the bottom of the comfortable box-bed I set up. I went to bed, and the next morning the bird was conscious but hadn’t moved. I went to work thinking I would return to a dead bird. But I returned to an alert and hungry eagle, as the next few images prove. The eagle just had a one day headache. In a few days it would be ready to return to the wild.
